A U.S. Harpers Ferry Model 1816 musket in .69 caliber, made around 1839 and later converted to percussion. It carries no serial number. The 42-inch round barrel is proofed and shows a date that is hard to read but appears to be 1837; the lock plate is marked EAGLE over US at the front and Harpers Ferry 1839 at the rear.
The barrel and other iron parts have gone to a light-to-dark grey patina, with oxidation around the percussion nipple. The stock is in good condition with the light handling wear you would expect. It is offered on consignment. For a Texas collector this is a U.S. armory musket of the period with its later percussion conversion, and it is a wall and cabinet piece rather than something to take afield.
