This used Blaser R8 Luxus is a straight-pull bolt-action takedown rifle in .270 Winchester, serial RR000167. It wears a 23-inch round blued barrel, a quick-detach saddle mount and a Zeiss Varipoint M 3-12x56 IC scope. The trigger group is removable, the bolt knob is oversized, and the Handspanner cocking and de-cocking safety is fitted. The receiver is engraved with scroll side panels, and the figured checkered walnut has a forend tip, a grip cap with engraved medallion and the original rubber pad. Condition is very good, and the original takedown case comes with it.

A .270 Winchester in a scoped bolt rifle is a solid Texas deer gun: centerfire rifles are legal for deer, and the general season runs November 7 through early January in the North Zone and mid-January in the South Zone. The R8 accepts other barrels, magazines and bolt faces, from short action to magnum, so one rifle can cover hogs year-round as well. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for your county.
