The Barrett REC7 is a semi-auto rifle in 5.56 NATO with a 16-inch barrel, serial RB00149, from modern production. The bore is bright with excellent rifling. Both the finish and the synthetic stock are described as excellent. This one has been fitted with a Daniel Defense handguard and LMT rail covers, so the furniture is not stock Barrett.

In Texas a 16-inch 5.56 carbine like this earns its keep on feral hogs, which have no closed season and no bag limit, and on general property and ranch duty the rest of the year. The handguard gives room for a light and a forward grip, and the covers keep the rail from chewing up your hands. It is also a comfortable rifle for range work with cheap 5.56 practice loads. Confirm the county rules in the TPWD Outdoor Annual before hunting.
