Stoeger's STR-9 is a new full-size striker-fired 9mm pistol with a 4-inch barrel, polymer frame, three-dot sights and a matte black finish, SKU NGZ5187 with factory number T6429-22U19013 and UPC 037084317205. The supplier lists it among brand new handguns.

For a Texas buyer this is a straightforward first pistol or home-defense gun. A full-size frame makes recoil easy to manage, the three-dot sights are simple to pick up quickly, and 9mm suits regular practice. There is no permit, registration or state waiting period on a handgun in Texas, so a new shooter can go from order to range in the time it takes the dealer to run the federal check. It also works as a range and training gun for someone who already carries something smaller.
