The Stoeger STR-9 Compact is a new striker-fired 9mm on a polymer frame, fitted with a 3.8-inch barrel, a matte black finish and a three-dot sight set. Nothing about it is exotic: a shortened slide and frame, plain sights and a simple trigger system. The picture on this page is a stock image of the model rather than a photo of the exact pistol you will receive.

For a Texas adult who carries, a compact 9mm with a barrel under four inches is the size that actually gets worn day after day. It rides under an untucked shirt in summer heat and still gives enough grip and sight radius to shoot well at the range. The three-dot sights are quick to find in daylight, and 9mm keeps practice sessions affordable. It also works as a nightstand gun for anyone who does not want a full-size pistol.
