An Argentine-built DGFM Model 1927 in .45 ACP, serial 44852, dating from about 1960. It is a 1911-pattern pistol with a 5-inch barrel, and this one has been updated with a commander-style hammer, a full-length guide rod and an extended stainless barrel from Storm Lake Machine. The supplier rates the overall condition very good.
Full-size 1911s remain popular in Texas for belt carry and for the range, and this one is set up to shoot rather than to sit in a case. The 5-inch barrel gives the longest sight radius of the pattern, the stainless replacement barrel is a working upgrade, and the commander hammer reduces the chance of the hammer biting the web of the hand. It also makes a reasonable home-defense pistol for anyone already trained on the 1911 manual of arms.
