This Colt Python dates from 1978 and carries the 4-inch barrel in .357 Magnum. The double-action revolver retains about 97 percent of its original finish, the bore is excellent, and the wood grips grade very good. The supplier puts the whole gun at very good condition, which for a Python of this age means it has been shot but also looked after.

A 4-inch .357 is the most practical Python length for a Texas owner who wants to use it rather than just display it. It sits in a belt holster on a ranch or in the truck, it is manageable at the range, and the double-action trigger makes it a credible home-defense revolver on the nightstand. Pythons also carry collector interest, so the high original finish matters as much as the mechanics.
