This Colt Bisley Flat Top target revolver was made in 1908, serial 307574, chambered in .32-20 (also called .32 WCF) with a 7.5-inch barrel and target sights. The metal has a dark gray mottled patina, the grips are very good with normal handling wear, the action works correctly and the bore is excellent. A factory letter confirms all features and records shipment to John M. Smyth & Company in Chicago on March 24, 1909. It was built near the end of Bisley flat top production. Used, SKU 61265.
A lettered Bisley flat top in .32-20 is a target-model Colt for Texas collectors who want documentation with the gun, and the excellent bore and working action mean it is not only a display piece. The 7.5-inch barrel and target sights define the model. Texas has no permit or registration requirement for handguns, so the purchase runs on the federal dealer paperwork alone.
