Kimber's Sapphire Ultra II is a 3-inch 1911 in .45 ACP, 6.8 inches long and 25 ounces, with 8+1 capacity from the single magazine included. The frame is lightweight aluminum in satin silver, the stainless slide wears a high-polish bright blue PVD finish with scroll engraving and a border, and the grips are thin blue and black ball-milled G-10. Tactical Wedge Tritium night sights are fixed, the thumb safety is ambidextrous, and the traditional grip safety stays. A ramped stainless barrel, full-length guide rod, 16-pound recoil spring and a match-grade aluminum trigger set around 4 to 5 pounds complete the build.

In Texas this pistol fits the buyer who wants a dressed-up carry 1911 rather than a safe queen: at 25 ounces and under 7 inches it conceals in a belt or appendix holster, and the tritium sights still work when the porch light is off. The ambidextrous safety suits left-handed shooters, and the engraving makes it as much a presentation piece as a defensive gun.
