The Colt Combat Commander in .38 Super is a Commander-length 1911: 4.25-inch stainless barrel, 7.75 inches overall, 33 ounces, with a 9+1 single-stack capacity and one magazine supplied. The slide and frame are blued carbon steel, the grips are checkered G10, and a dual recoil spring system is fitted to soften recoil and stretch service life. Sights are a Novak white-dot front and LoMount Carry rear, the grip safety has an upswept beavertail, and the Series 80 system adds a firing-pin block to the manual thumb safety.

The .38 Super is the flat-shooting 1911 cartridge, and this Commander puts it in a package short enough for belt carry in Texas yet heavy enough at 33 ounces to stay steady on a range plate rack. The blued finish and G10 grips suit a shooter who wants the classic Colt look with modern grip texture, and the Novak sights give a clean picture for either job.
