The Reflex XL MRD is FN's longer-gripped micro-compact 9mm: 3.8-inch cold hammer-forged stainless barrel, 6.75 inches overall, 19.7 ounces, and 10+1 capacity with two magazines in the box. Unlike most pistols this size it uses an internal hammer with a single-action trigger rather than a striker, backed by a trigger safety and no manual safety. The brown polymer frame has in-mold stippling, the slide is cut for micro red dots, and the sights are a tritium front with a black two-dot rear.

The XL grip is the reason to pick this over a shorter Reflex: a Texas shooter with larger hands gets a full hold for daily carry without giving up a slim profile. The single-action press feels the same from the first shot to the last, which helps a new carrier build consistent trigger habits, and the optic cut plus tritium front cover both daylight range sessions and a dark hallway at home.
