Very Fine Colt 1860 Army 4 Screw

This Colt 1860 Army four-screw revolver is serial number 23163, made in 1861, in .44 caliber with an 8-inch barrel. The supplier describes more than half of the original finish surviving, blended with a plum-colored patina that makes the gun present closer to a 90 percent piece. The frame holds bright case colors, the cylinder retains the complete scene and is matching to the gun, and the grips are excellent with sharp cartouches. It is listed under Colt 1860 Army as SKU AC1147.

An 1861-dated four-screw Army with a matching cylinder and sharp cartouches is the sort of Colt that Texas collectors of percussion revolvers look for, and the mix of true finish and plum patina should be judged from the photographs rather than from a single percentage. It is sold as a used antique and is best treated as a display and reference piece rather than a shooter.
