This is an unopened box of fifty .38 Long Colt smokeless centerfire cartridges produced by Rem-UMC. The catalogue places it under accessories, scopes and ammo as SKU AM723 with the manufacturer field reading Colt, which refers to the cartridge designation rather than the maker of the box. It is sold as a used collectible, the usual grade for vintage ammunition, and the box has not been opened according to the supplier.

For a Texas cartridge collector a full, unopened Rem-UMC box of .38 Long Colt is a shelf piece first. The unopened condition is what sets it apart from loose rounds, so most buyers will keep it closed and display it with other early smokeless packaging. If you own a revolver chambered for the cartridge, treat these as collector items and make any decision to shoot them only after a careful look at the age and storage of the lot.
