This kinko menuki shows roosters in shakudo with gold and silver highlights, and the supplier notes fine detail in the work. On the back is a signature in red lacquer. It is catalogued under Japanese swords, fittings and firearms as SKU MGJ543 and sold used, the normal state for antique sword furniture. Dimensions are not listed, so refer to the photographs for scale.

The red lacquer signature on the reverse separates this piece from the unsigned menuki in the same catalogue section and gives a Texas collector something to research. The rooster subject in shakudo with two-metal highlights suits a mounting project where a bird theme is wanted, or a display tray grouped with other animal-subject fittings. Judge the condition of the lacquer from the images, as the supplier describes the detail but not the wear.
