The Anaconda Target is Colt's .44 Remington Magnum double-action revolver with an 8-inch stainless barrel, a six-round cylinder, 14.25 inches overall and 54 ounces of weight. The muzzle has a recessed target crown, the frame is drilled and tapped for an optic mount, and the sights pair a green fiber optic front with an adjustable target rear. A Hogue rubber grip soaks up recoil, and Colt's linear leaf spring action gives a double-action pull that does not stack.

Texas allows any centerfire handgun for deer, and hogs are open year-round with no limit, which is exactly the use an 8-inch .44 Magnum with an optic-ready frame is built for. Mount a pistol scope or red dot, and the long barrel and 54-ounce heft keep the magnum manageable from a blind or off a shooting stick. Check the TPWD Outdoor Annual for your county's deer rules before the November 7 opener.
