This Beretta A400 Xcel Sporting in 12 gauge carries a 28-inch vent rib barrel with an extended removable choke and a chamber for 2 3/4-inch and 3-inch shells. The receiver has the Shield Gray finish, the barrel a matte blue, and the front sight is a white bead. The forend and stock are checkered wood with a 14.5-inch length of pull. Our record lists the condition as used; the supplier text says NEW and uses a stock photo, so confirm before you buy.

The 28-inch barrel is the quicker-handling of the two Xcel Sporting lengths, which suits a Texas shooter who moves between the sporting clays course and the skeet field. The white bead and vent rib give a clean sight picture, and the removable choke adapts the pattern to the station. With the 3-inch chamber it also handles heavier loads when the season calls for it.
