The Bond Arms XLV from the Rough Series is a single-action two-shot derringer in .45 ACP with a 4.25-inch flat-sided barrel, 6.25 inches overall and 25.6 ounces. The steel frame and barrel are bead-blasted to a matte stainless finish, the grips are B6 synthetic, and the controls are a cross-bolt safety and a rebounding hammer. Sights are a fixed front blade and rear notch, and the action breaks open for loading.

Compared with the smaller Bond derringers, the XLV's longer barrel and 6.25-inch length move it from pocket carry to a belt holster for a Texas owner. The .45 ACP chambering shares ammunition with a 1911 or any other .45 pistol already in the house, and the matte, non-reflective finish and synthetic grips are built for sweat and weather rather than show. The extra length gives a longer sight radius for the two shots it holds.
