The 687 Silver Pigeon III is Beretta's engraved 28-gauge over-and-under with 30-inch Steelium Optima Bore HP barrels, 3-inch chambers and interchangeable Optima-Choke HP tubes. The silver receiver carries pheasant and partridge scenes among floral scroll, the Grade 2.5 walnut stock and forend are checkered under a glossy water-resistant finish, and the gun balances at 6.6 pounds with a 14.75-inch pull and 47.5 inches overall. A single selective trigger picks the barrel, the top-tang safety is ambidextrous, and a bead sits on the rib.

This is a sporting and field gun for a Texas shooter who wants a light 28-gauge for clays and upland birds rather than a deer load; the multi-choke barrels let one gun go from a tight sporting course to open field patterns by swapping tubes. The 30-inch barrels add swing on crossing targets, and the engraving marks it as a gun to keep rather than a loaner.
